Gentle Monster and Nudake in Seoul

Gentle Monster & Nudake in Seoul – Where Design Meets Lifestyle

On my recent trip to Seoul, one of the highlights was visiting Haus Dosan, home to Gentle Monster, Tamburins and cafe Nudake. Located in the heart of Sinsa-dong, Gangnam, this five-story concept space is not just a store, it’s a destination where fashion, art and culinary creativity collide. If you are passionate about design, aesthetics and immersive experiences, Haus Dosan is a must-visit!

A Design Landmark in Gangnam

Finding Haus Dosan in the summer heat was a small adventure in itself. Tucked into the stylish Apgujeong-ro neighborhood, the entrance immediately stood out, almost like walking into a futuristic gallery. From the moment I stepped inside, the space unfolded into an artsy, experimental world where design wasn’t just decoration, it was the entire experience.

Haus Dosan combines three different brands under one roof: Gentle Monster – the Korean luxury eyewear brand known for turning retail into an art form. Tamburins, a fragrance brand with packaging and presentation as creative as the scents themselves. And Nudake – an avant-garde café concept serving desserts that look more like sculptures than pastries.

Each brand occupies a floor, and the transition between them feels like moving through different chapters of the same design story.

Gentle Monster: Eyewear as an Art Experience

Gentle Monster has become globally recognized not just for its eyewear but for how it redefines retail design. Each flagship store is created like an art exhibition, and the Seoul location is one of the most impressive.

The space is filled with immersive installations that blur the lines between product display, gallery art and futuristic set design. Instead of traditional shelves, the eyewear is integrated into sculptural displays that make you pause and take in the artistry.

For a designer like me, it was inspiring to see how storytelling through space can transform a simple shopping experience into something memorable. Gentle Monster doesn’t just sell sunglasses—it sells a feeling, a world and an identity.

Nudake: Where Desserts Become Sculptures

One of the highlights of Haus Dosan is Nudake, Gentle Monster’s in-house café. Nudake takes the concept of a dessert shop and pushes it into the realm of art.

The café serves cakes and pastries that are avant-garde, geometric and sculptural. Some creations resemble architectural models, others look like abstract artworks. It’s the kind of café where every item feels like it belongs on a pedestal in a design museum.

Sitting inside Nudake, I felt like I was in a creative laboratory where food, design, and imagination merge. It’s not just about taste, it’s about the visual and spatial experience of food as art.

Why Haus Dosan is a Must-Visit in Seoul?

Visiting Haus Dosan is not like visiting a regular store. It’s closer to stepping inside a living art installation. What makes it truly special is the way it blends multiple disciplines; fashion, interior design, food and art into one cohesive journey.

As someone passionate about design and lifestyle, I left Haus Dosan with the sense that this space represents the future of retail: immersive, emotional and experience-driven.

Final Thoughts

If you’re planning a trip to Seoul and you love design, fashion and café culture, don’t miss Haus Dosan. It’s one of the most talked-about destinations in the city for a reason. Walking through the space felt like moving through a hybrid of a museum, concept store and café. A reminder that design is not just about objects, but about the experiences we create around them.

For me, Haus Dosan was more than just a stop on a travel itinerary. It was a creative inspiration, showing how brands can transform everyday products into extraordinary experiences through design.

Whether you come for the eyewear, the desserts, or simply the atmosphere, one thing is certain: you’ll leave with a deeper appreciation for the way design shapes how we see, feel, and live.
